Our days will be filled with surfing, island adventures, lots of fun... and some time for the parents to wind down and relax too :)

Our very first family retreat

Some of you may know that I'm a mum to a now 10-year-old boy. I never thought WSS would offer family retreats... but here we are.

This business encapsulates so much of what I love, and one of the things I love most is travelling, exploring and surfing with my family.

After having them with me in Siargao last August, I knew I wanted to share that experience with more families like ours.

So if your family loves adventure, the ocean and fun waves - this retreat was made for you!

Waves for every surf level

With so many different surf breaks nearby, we'll choose the conditions and waves that best suit everyone's level each day.

When needed, we'll split into smaller groups and head to different surf spots, so everyone gets the most out of their time in the water.

Whether you're learning to catch green waves, building confidence or refining your technique, Siargao gives us an incredible playground to surf, learn and progress.

The water is crystal clear, the waves are playful, and every surf feels like one of those sessions you wish could last forever.

Siargao, the island paradise

I first visited Siargao in 2023, and while everyone talks about the beautiful beaches and palm trees (which are every bit as incredible as they look), the main reason I fell in love with this island wasn't the scenery.

It was the people.

The warmth.
The kindness.
The slower pace of life.

Out in the water, you'll see local surfers sharing their stoke with visitors. Groms being encouraged by more experienced surfers and cheered on as they catch their waves.

It's the kind of lineup that instantly makes you feel welcome and reminds you that surfing can be joyful without feeling competitive.

Punta Punta - our island home

From the moment you arrive, you'll understand why I couldn't imagine hosting our retreat anywhere else.

Nestled amongst the palms and overlooking the ocean, it's so much more than just a beautiful place to stay.

Punta Punta is closely connected to the local community, and that's something I really love.

The kids of our local surf instructors often join us for a surf on the weekends. You'll meet kids from the village who are always keen to practise their English, jump on a surf skate or explore the rock pools together at low tide.

It's one of those places where your kids can very quickly find themselves making friends on the other side of the world.

A Week of Surfing, Fun and Inspiration

The alarm goes off before sunrise... but somehow, you don't mind.

You pull back the curtains and the ocean is already glowing. The kids are excited to get in the water. The boat is waiting just out the front. Coffee in hand, surfboard under your arm, your loved ones by your side - and off we go to catch the best waves before the island fully wakes up.

A few hours later, you return salty, smiling and already replaying your favourite wave from the morning.

The team is there to welcome you back with their famous cucumber-infused water (trust me... you'll be dreaming about it long after you get home), while breakfast is being served under the trees.

The kids jump straight into the pool as soon as they've filled their hungry tummies (their energy never ends!), while you actually get a moment to refuel and relax.

Later, you might stretch out on a sun lounge beneath the palms with a good book

while the kids are busy with a creative workshop. Or maybe you treat yourself to one of Bambi's magical massages... the kind that somehow makes every muscle in your body melt.

Some days we'll venture into town together for dinner, sharing stories from the day's surf over incredible food. Other days we'll go island hopping, explore the north or discover another little corner of Siargao that made me fall in love with this island.

No two days are exactly the same.

Every surf session, activity and adventure has been thoughtfully chosen around the tides, the conditions and everything Siargao has to offer.

There's a rhythm to the week that allows you to actually relax (but definitely not be bored), knowing that all the details have already been taken care of.

All you need to do is show up, enjoy the ride and be fully immersed in the experience.

Helena, Luke & Koa

I'll be with you throughout the entire retreat - coaching, cheering you on, celebrating your wins and supporting you every step of the way.

Koa is our second-in-charge of all things FUN, making sure the kids' activities and itinerary get his very important 10-year-old seal of approval.

And my husband Luke brings his usual calm, positive energy to the water and the week, making sure everyone is having the best time.

Mel

The logistics queen, main cheerleader and all-round legend of a person.

Mel is the one making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, while also making sure everyone is having the best possible time on the island.

Our Local Crew

Our local surf instructors are the people who'll be looking after you in the water. They know these waves like the back of their hand, genuinely care about your progression, and are always ready with encouragement, a high five or a smile after a great ride.

Back at Punta Punta, you'll be welcomed by a team that quickly feels like family. They remember your name, celebrate your wins, and somehow always know exactly what you need before you even have to ask.
